In early summer 2014 Antti and I joined forces at a spot close to my home in Bayreuth. Antti’s goal was to land another world first on MTB: the frontflip flair, which until then had only been landed on a handful of occasions on a BMX. The jump we had at hand was quite perfect for it: it was a big heap of dirt slash bio degradable waste (which of course we didn’t know before we started digging…), very soft but still perfectly ridable. After we built a takeoff and had the setup ready to go, Antti didn’t waste much time warming up. After probably 15 minutes of sessioning the quarter, he decided to go for it and sent the fronty flair! It couldn’t have gone any better and we were actually a bit confused about how easy the whole thing went down. Consequently, Antti tried to stomp the fronty flair with a nohander thrown in the mix, but couldn’t quite ride out of that trick! But luckily, there’s always next time… for now, the „normal“ Frontflip Flair would have to be enough… 😉
